::Eggs N'at::

So I'm between day jobs at time of writing, which has been more stressful than I though it would be (so, y'know, if updates seem a little more infrequent lately, you know why). I was at a hiring even over in Moon recently and figured that it would be a good opportunity to look at some places I had never even seen before.

To that end I found a little diner a few blocks north of the event called Eggs N'at, which only does breakfast and lunch. Most of their menu looked like fairly standard diner food when I looked online (with an obvious focus on eggs), but that's something I haven't had available to me in a few years so I had to take a look.

This dinner is so tiny and retro looking, I feel like it hasn't changed in decades. It looks like it was built sometime between the 50's and 70's, got revamped in the 90's, and they just kept that aestetic ever since.

The staff are super friendly, which I thought might just have been because I was ahead of the lunch rush. But never stopped even as more people came in.

I ordered their namesake special, the eggs n'at. And the portions are huge! One plate piled high with eggs, potatoes, bacon (in my case, but they have a variety of meats to choose from), and toast. On the other, a pancake almost as big as my head. The potatoes are seasoned wonderfully, the bacon is thick cut but crisp, the eggs are mild on their own but work fantastically when they're all piled up on the itallian bread.

The pancake had a variety of options available, so I chose chocolate chip, which is sweeter than I should have gone given how I handle that. I didn't end up putting syrup on it, because I wasn't sure what kind of chocolate chips were in the mix, which turned out to be a good call. The chips were fairly dark, thankfully for me, and paired nicely with the sweeter cake. Your mileage may vary of course, but for me syrup would have been an overwhelming addition.

I really liked the vibe of this place, and the lunch menu (while a basic as their breakfast menu) looks good. I'm looking forward to coming back here at some point.
